How Do I Calculate My Exact Age?
Enter your date of birth in the calculator above. It counts the full years since your birth, then the extra months, then the remaining days, handling different month lengths and leap years for you. Someone born on 15 March 1990 is 36 years, 6 months and 10 days old on 25 September 2026.
How Old Am I If I Was Born In
| Born in | Age in 2026 after your birthday | Age in 2026 before your birthday |
|---|---|---|
| 1980 | 46 | 45 |
| 1990 | 36 | 35 |
| 2000 | 26 | 25 |
| 2005 | 21 | 20 |
| 2008 | 18 | 17 |
| 2010 | 16 | 15 |
| 2015 | 11 | 10 |
The rule: subtract your birth year from the current year, then take away one if your birthday hasn't happened yet this year.
Which Age Calculator Should I Use?
- Days, hours and seconds old: how many days old am I.
- Age on a future or past date, such as a school cut-off or 2050: age on a date calculator.
- Difference between two people: age gap calculator.
- Next birthday: birthday countdown.
- Generation, Hijri age or age on other planets: generation calculator, Hijri age calculator and age on other planets.
- Everything at once: the all-in-one age calculator.
Chronological Age vs Adjusted Age
These calculators show chronological age, the time since your date of birth, which schools, exams and most legal checks use. Adjusted or corrected age, used for babies born early, subtracts the weeks of prematurity; none of these tools calculate it, so ask a paediatrician if you need it.
Your date of birth stays in your browser and isn't sent anywhere. Want to see your life as a grid of weeks? Try the life in weeks calculator, or read how to calculate exact age by hand.
How to Use the Age Calculator
- Enter your date of birth.
- Leave the second date as today, or change it to see your age on any other date.
- Read your exact age in years, months and days, plus the totals in months, weeks and days.
How the Age Calculator Works
The calculator counts complete years first, then complete months, then the remaining days. When the day of the month has not been reached yet, it borrows the number of days in the previous month, which is how ages are counted on official forms. Month lengths and leap years come from the calendar itself, so February and 31-day months are always counted correctly.
Who Uses the Age Calculator?
- School admissions: check whether a child meets an age cut-off on a specific date.
- Forms and applications: state an exact age for visas, insurance or job applications.
- Milestones: find out when you turn 10,000 days old or how many weeks you have lived.
How the Age Calculator Saves You Time
Working out an exact age by hand means subtracting dates, borrowing days and allowing for month lengths and leap years, which is slow and easy to get wrong by a day. The calculator does it the moment you enter a date.
