How Each Part Is Worked Out

Zodiac sign: your birth day and month on the 12-sign Western calendar.
Birthstone and flower: your birth month.
Chinese zodiac: your birth year. If you were born in January or early February, check that you were born after that year's Lunar New Year; the Chinese zodiac calculator explains the cut-off.
Life path number: add every digit of your birth date and keep adding until you get a single digit. 11, 22 and 33 are kept as "master numbers".

How is a numerology life path number calculated?

Add all the digits of your full date of birth, then keep adding the digits of the result until you reach a single number. For 15 June 1990: 1+5+0+6+1+9+9+0 = 31, and 3+1 = 4. Many numerologists keep 11, 22 and 33 as master numbers instead of reducing them.

What is a ruling planet?

In Western astrology each zodiac sign is paired with a planet said to govern it: Mercury rules Gemini and Virgo, Venus rules Taurus and Libra, Mars rules Aries, and so on. Modern astrology also assigns Uranus, Neptune and Pluto to Aquarius, Pisces and Scorpio.

Is my Nakshatra the same as my birth star?

Not quite. This profile shows the Nakshatra the Sun is in on your birth date. In Vedic astrology your birth star, or Janma Nakshatra, is the one the Moon occupied at the exact time and place of your birth, which needs a full birth chart and can differ from the Sun's.

Is the cosmic birth profile scientifically accurate?
