How It's Calculated

The calculator checks each day from the start date up to, but not including, the end date. A day counts unless it's a weekend day for your chosen week or matches a holiday you added. Excluding the end date is the usual convention for notice periods and delivery estimates. If you need it included, set the end date one day later.

5-Day vs 6-Day Work Weeks

Most offices in the US, UK and UAE work Monday to Friday. Many shops, factories and private firms in Pakistan and South Asia work Monday to Saturday, so the 6-day option counts Saturdays as business days. The calculator doesn't cover a Friday–Saturday weekend, used in Saudi Arabia and some other countries.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many business days are in a year?

2026 has 261 weekdays from Monday to Friday, and so does 2027, before public holidays are taken off. With a six-day week, Monday to Saturday, there are 313. Subtract your country's public holidays to get the number of actual working days.

How many business days are in a month?

Between 20 and 23 on a Monday to Friday week, depending on the month's length and how its weekends fall. In 2026, February has 20 and July and December have 23. On a six-day week a month has 24 to 27 working days before holidays.

Does the business day count include the start and end dates?

This calculator counts the start date if it is a business day and leaves out the end date, the usual convention for notice periods and delivery times. If you want to include the end date as well, enter the following day as the end date.

What is 10 business days from today?

Use the Add Business Days section: enter today's date and 10. It skips weekends and any holidays you have added. For example, 10 business days after Friday 25 September 2026 is Friday 9 October 2026, two calendar weeks later.

Is Saturday a business day?

In most offices in the US, UK and UAE, no: business days run Monday to Friday. Many businesses in Pakistan and South Asia work on Saturdays, so choose the six-day week option to count Saturday as a working day. Sunday is never counted.

Does the calculator know public holidays?

No, because they differ by country, region and sometimes employer. Add the holiday dates that apply to you in the holidays list and they are excluded from the count. Islamic holidays such as the Eids also move each year with the lunar calendar.
