What Is This Study Planner Template?

This free study planner template gives each day of the week a sheet for assignments and exams, with subject, due date and priority. Days remaining count down automatically so deadlines stand out, and you can log hours studied. Weekly and monthly summaries with charts fill in as you go. Download Excel, PDF or images, or print blank.

What's Included

How to Use It

Use the week switcher at the top to pick any calendar week, then work through the day tabs — Monday through Sunday — logging each assignment or exam as a row: subject, what it is, a due date, and a priority level. The Days Remaining column counts down from the due date automatically, so overdue and close-deadline items stand out at a glance. Set the day's focus and hours studied at the top so each page tells its own story, and use the Daily Notes section below the grid for a longer reflection on how the study session actually went.

Every week you visit is saved on its own, so your history builds up automatically — jump back with the ◀ arrow or the date picker any time. Open the Weekly Summary tab for that week's totals, or the Monthly Summary tab to see every week you've logged in a given month rolled up together. When you're ready, download the current week's workbook — seven day sheets, weekly summary and monthly summary — as a single Excel (.xlsx) file, or print any page blank and fill it in by hand.

Plan the rest of your day in the daily planner, keep a study streak with the habit tracker, and check essay length with the word counter. See every free planner in the planner hub.

How the Study Planner Works

Each week lists your subjects, assignments or exams, due dates, priority and status, and a Days Remaining column counts down to each deadline from today. Hours studied and energy level are logged per day and summarised for the month. Everything you type is saved automatically in your browser (local storage) on this device, so the sheet is still there when you come back, with nothing sent to a server and no account needed. Totals, completion rates and charts recalculate the moment a cell changes. When you want a copy, the export buttons build an Excel .xlsx file, a PNG or JPG image, or a PDF of the full planner, and the print buttons print one sheet or all of them. Because the data lives in one browser, use the Excel download if you want a backup or plan to switch devices.

How the Study Planner Saves You Time

Counting days to each deadline and keeping several lists in sync by hand takes time every week. The planner updates the countdowns automatically, so planning the week takes a few minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Days Remaining column?

It's calculated automatically from the Due Date you enter — counting down in green, turning amber inside a week, and red once it's overdue, so nothing sneaks up on you.

How does switching weeks work?

Use the ◀ ▶ arrows or the date picker at the top to move between weeks. Each week keeps its own data, so nothing you logged before gets overwritten — "This Week" jumps straight back to today.

What does the Monthly Summary show?

It rolls up every week you've logged that falls in a chosen month — tasks, hours studied and completion rate per week, plus a month total. Pick a different month with the dropdown at the top of that tab.

What's the Daily Notes section for?

It's a free-form space below the grid for a longer reflection — what clicked, what didn't, what to revisit — beyond what fits in a single Notes cell. Add as many note boxes as you need with the "Add Note Box" button.

Can I print a blank copy to write on by hand?

Yes. Any day with empty cells prints as a blank grid ready for handwriting. Use "Print Full Planner" to print all seven days plus the weekly and monthly summaries in one go.

Can I use this as an exam countdown planner?

Yes. Add one row per exam with its Due Date and set Priority to High, and the Days Remaining column counts down automatically, turning amber inside a week and red once you're overdue, so upcoming exams stay visible without a separate countdown tool.

Is this a weekly study schedule template for college students?

Yes, though it isn't limited to college. It's built around a Monday-to-Sunday week with a focus and hours-studied field per day, so it fits any student tracking subjects, assignments and exam dates on a weekly rhythm, from middle school through university.
